Leisure Archives

Since I live in El Salvador and we celebrate our independence on Sep. 15 I’m officially on vacations today.

But as a world wide marketer I should be working and following up with my friends, business partners and clients. So what can I do?

Well I decided to go to the volcano (no it’s not active) with my family and some friends and we’ll spend the day there having some typical Salvadoran food and a beer or two. The cool thing is that technology allows me to do that and also apparently be very busy online. So for today I’ve set up this blog post to go up at noon. I’ve used futuretweet to send several tweets during the day. You can follow me at http://www.Twitter.com/RichOsterude

Plus I’m also posting 2 videos at twutorials.com later on today too. And I’m forwarding my skype calls to my cell phone in case of an emergency.

So what’s the lesson? well that if you are a little bit organized you can maintain a proper presence online while taking some time off which is also very important now and then.

Cheers!

I know I have to be more consistent with my blog posts, but I really have a great excuse for not posting anything in over a month.

I WAS ON VACATIONS WITH THE FAMILY!

We’ve been planning this since September last year, maybe I didn’t plan enough, because I could have left some scheduled posts in place so no one noticed I was gone, but what the heck.

My wife Marielos and my two kids Ricky (9) and Alex (4.5) went to Florida for 3 weeks. 16 days at Orlando and the rest in Miami visiting my uncle.

16 Days in Orlando! Well I purchased passes to visit 8 parks so we were at a park almost every day.
Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios, Islands of Adventure, Hollywood Studios, Wet and Wild, Aquatica, Sea World and Bush Gardens.
Now that was an experience I highly recommend but if you were to tell me to do it a gain I’d not go to so many parks, maybe just 3 or 4 and relax a bit more at the resort, which also has a ton of things you can do.

Anyways, the kids loved it, I have over 700 pictures and 7 hours of video, all taken with my handy Casio Exilim. Plenty of memories to hang on to for a year or two at least.

So now that I’m back I promise I’ll be more active at my blog and also feel free to follow me on twitter.

Cheers!

P.S. the extra week I didn’t post… that was to rest and recuperate from the vacation ;-)

Yesterday was Labor Day here in El Salvador so I took the day off and went to the lake with my wife and sons. I did this small video because I think the place is beautiful and wanted to share some sights with you.

Christmas is almost here and since now I have some extra room in my budget, I decided I’d give my wife a new car as a Christmas gift.
Well… I didn’t get her the car “just because” we really needed a SUV to go out on family trips on the weekends, so it relly wasn’t a surprise gift for her.
We ended up getting a Pearl white Mitsubishi Outlander. I wanted the dark gray, but hey it’s here car.
I’ll post some pics later on, I just wanted to get this message out to you fast.

Anyways what does a car have to do with a Virtual Assistant?
…NOTHING
I was just sharing

So if you want to get your own free virtual assistant, go to:
http://www.iwantsandy.com/

Sign up for free, and start telling her what to do. Of course, it is kind of limited but its great for reminders, and the fact you can add her into an email conversation is really cool.
Cheers

Wooohooo?
hmmm, now why am I cheering it’s Friday if I no longer have a job? Actually, Woohoo it’s ANY DAY!!!!

If you didn’t know. I quit my job exactly 3 months ago, and I’ve never been happier in my life. Well maybe not as much as when I got married and had my two kids. But professionally I couldn’t be happier.

Today I’m at a friends house at the lake 45 min from home and I’m enjoying my new GPRS internet connection so I can take my laptop anywhere I want and still get online (if i want to).

Anyways, what’s the point of this post?
Well I just wanted encourage to keep working hard on your business so soon, you too can enjoy of your freedom and independence and be able to decide when you work and what you work on.

If you have a chance try and read the 4 Hour Work Week, by Tim Ferris. It sure has been a motivation for me and actually has helped me take some business decisions that will help me grow my business AND have more time for myself and my family.

I hope you have a great weekend, try to dedicate a couple of hours to your business, a couple to reading and enjoy your family the most possible.

Cheers!!

Richard
